OpenChair was founded by Logan and Jodie — two small business owners who spent time in real salons, listened to the people running them, and got frustrated by the same tools they complained about. We built OpenChair because great operators deserve better systems, and the people making them should understand what “better” actually means on the salon floor.

Logan and Jodie, founders of OpenChair
Where we started
Before OpenChair, we built and ran Little Mr Bouqs, a boutique online floral business. Every enquiry that slipped through, every late-night admin session, every cancelled order that hit revenue — we felt it. That experience shaped how we think about every product decision. The details are never just details when you are the one carrying the business forward.
What we set out to build
We are not interested in building another generic booking app. OpenChair is designed to help salons and barbershops protect revenue, reclaim time, and deliver a more polished client experience — without becoming colder or more complicated in the process. Scheduling that fills itself, deposits that protect your day, and an AI front desk that never clocks off.

Built with operators
Jodie works directly with salon owners — not from behind a screen, but standing at the front desk, watching how the day unfolds. That is how we find the friction that other platforms miss. Every feature in OpenChair was shaped by real operator feedback, not a roadmap drawn in isolation.
When we say “built with operators”, we mean it literally. Our product decisions come from watching stylists juggle walk-ins and waitlists, from hearing owners talk through the no-shows that derailed their week, from seeing the relief when something finally just works.
What we believe
The right system should protect your day, cut admin, and help you stay focused on clients instead of chasing loose ends.
Independent operators should not have to choose between clunky legacy tools and polished apps that fall apart as they grow.
Bookings, reminders, deposits, and follow-ups all shape how clients feel about your brand. We build around that reality.
What shapes how we build
Before OpenChair, we built and ran Little Mr Bouqs, a boutique online floral business. We learned quickly that every missed message, every bit of admin, and every cancelled order has a real cost when you are the one carrying the business.
OpenChair brings together years of product leadership and technical experience, including software delivered globally for banks, government, and SMBs, to create a platform that feels simple on the surface and strong underneath.
We spend time in salons watching how the day actually unfolds. Our product decisions come from real operator feedback, not a roadmap drawn in isolation.
