One operating model, different stages
Set service durations, take direct bookings, apply a deposit rule, open client history at the appointment, check out from mobile and offer the next visit before the client leaves.
Check therapist and treatment-room availability together, keep service length in the availability calculation, share authorised client context and connect paid checkout records to commission reporting.
Add bookable therapists, set their working hours and services, give each one a direct booking route, and keep venue-level visibility as the roster changes.
Therapist + room scheduling
Three therapists are working at 2 pm. Two treatment rooms are already occupied. A third therapist looking free does not create another room.
On Pro, Bookable Resources Scheduling lets a studio configure rooms, chairs, machines and equipment alongside staff. Services can require the relevant resource, so availability checks the eligible therapist, configured capacity and existing bookings together.
Availability follows the studio's configuration. This is not autonomous room optimisation.

Service setup
A waxing menu can include short maintenance appointments and longer services. Configure each service's duration, eligible therapists and required room or resource so the booking flow offers appropriate availability.
Service families, booking options and bookable service combos are available where they fit the menu. The studio decides how its services are grouped and sold.

Booking Protection supports Deposit Upfront and basic No-show Card Protection. A deposit or no-show card rule asks the client for a commitment before the appointment is held, under the policy shown during booking.
These controls do not eliminate cancellations, prevent every no-show or guarantee revenue.
The next visit
A client who usually returns every four, six or eight weeks may want to secure the next visit while today's appointment is still current. OpenChair keeps rebooking, reminders and follow-up as distinct, controlled workflows.

Options resolve against availability. The studio and client choose the next visit.
Offer four, six and eight-week options after checkout. Each option is resolved against availability, and the client and studio still choose what suits the next visit.
Future options prefer the therapist from the completed appointment, then clearly fall back when that therapist is unavailable.
An operator can create a repeating series with a chosen interval and end condition. Every occurrence is checked for conflicts.
Rebooking creates the next appointment. Configured reminders help protect an appointment that is already in the diary.
Open previous bookings, notes, completed forms and future appointments from the client profile, subject to the user's role and access.
Cadence views, Reconnect and backfill tools support controlled outreach to an appropriate client, with communication preferences and opt-outs respected.

Client context
Customer Profiles can keep previous visits, notes the studio has recorded, service history, future bookings and communication history together. Consultation Forms & Waivers can be attached where the studio has configured them.
OpenChair stores configured venue and client information. It does not diagnose skin conditions, interpret contraindications or decide treatment suitability.
Preferred therapist
Share a therapist-specific route in an Instagram bio or follow-up message.
Place a downloadable code at reception or in approved printed material.
Show the therapist's first-name label, job title, specialties and assigned services where configured.

Direct branded booking
The Customer Storefront gives the studio a branded booking page with theme controls, account-free booking, public team profiles and direct links. Pro venues can connect a configured custom domain.
OpenChair charges zero booking commission on bookings made through an OpenChair storefront. Card-processing fees still apply.
On Pro, connected Instagram DMs can appear in Inbox. Smart Replies can draft a grounded response, and eligible high-confidence replies can Auto-send where the owner has configured that authority. Confidence, safety and velocity rules can move a reply to Draft or escalation. Booking actions remain review-first, so a reply can point someone towards booking without independently creating or confirming an appointment.
