Appointment Locations
Let a solo provider offer bookings from up to three addresses, set location-specific working times, and snapshot the address onto bookings.
Last updated 5 September 2026
Booking locations let a solo provider offer appointments from more than one address without creating separate venues.
TL;DR
- Booking locations are PRO-only and available to venues with exactly one active bookable provider.
- Manage locations from Settings > Booking > Appointment locations.
- Use Set where and when you work to assign one or more times and locations to a day.
- Venue opening hours do not overwrite a customised provider schedule.
- Existing bookings keep the location snapshot captured when the booking was created or rescheduled.
Availability
Booking locations are available on PRO for venues with exactly one active bookable provider. If the venue has no bookable provider, more than one active bookable provider, or is on Free, the locations card is read-only and explains what to change.
No feature flag or support activation is required. The first time an eligible owner saves Working hours, OpenChair safely carries forward the existing weekly hours and date exceptions before making the new location-specific schedule live. If an older staged schedule no longer matches the current hours, editing pauses for a safety review and customer availability remains unchanged.
Add A Location
- Go to Settings > Booking.
- Open Appointment locations.
- Add a name, address, suburb, postcode, country, and optional customer directions.
- Choose the visibility mode.
- Save the location.
Location forms use explicit Save/Cancel on web and updated native phone/tablet apps. Existing eligibility rules apply on every platform.
Each eligible venue can have up to three active booking locations. The primary location is created from the venue address and cannot be archived.
Set Where And When You Work
From Appointment locations, choose Set where and when you work. Working hours are the source of truth for staff-required appointment availability.
- Choose the day.
- Choose an appointment location, start time, and end time.
- Select Add another time when you work another non-overlapping window that day.
- Review any change-of-location gaps and future booking conflicts.
- Save the complete schedule.
For example, Tuesday can contain Salisbury Plain from 9:30 am–2:00 pm and Port Lincoln from 6:00–9:00 pm. The gap is not bookable. A service must fit fully inside one working window at one location.
Date overrides replace the whole recurring schedule for that date. They can contain multiple location-specific windows or mark the date closed without changing the recurring week.
Important
Venue opening hours remain the public/business-hours authority for services that use only a room or other resource. They no longer silently change a customised provider schedule.
What Customers See
When the selected service is available at more than one appointment location, the customer chooses a location before choosing a date and time. They can also choose Either location — show me the soonest.
Choosing a specific location filters dates, times, holds, booking creation, and reschedule options to that location. The chosen location remains visible and changeable through review. If no matching times remain, the booking keeps the selected services and offers another location or the soonest time at either location.
When only one location is eligible, OpenChair skips the choice and continues directly to date and time. Every returned time still has one concrete appointment location.
If the assigned location changes later, existing bookings keep the location snapshot captured when the booking was created or rescheduled.
Visibility Modes
- Full address public: customers see the full address before booking.
- Suburb public, full after booking: customers see suburb-level detail before booking and the full address after confirmation.
- Hidden until approval: reserved for future approval-mode work and cannot be enabled yet.
Notifications And Calendar
Booking confirmations, acknowledgements, reminders, reschedule confirmations, reconfirmation emails, manage-booking pages, iCal calendar exports, web calendar detail, and mobile booking detail use the booking's saved location snapshot. Archived locations remain visible on existing bookings but stop appearing on new availability.
Troubleshooting
- A location is missing from booking: confirm it is active and used in at least one applicable Working hours window.
- No times appear at one location: choose Show soonest at either location or See other locations, then review the provider's Working hours.
- A schedule will not save: every row needs an active location and a valid start/end time; rows on the same day cannot overlap.
- A location cannot be archived: remove it from future-effective Working hours first. Existing booking snapshots are not removed.
