New in OpenChair: service combos, booking controls and deposit requests | 15-30 June 2026
Build service combos, plan colour appointments and request deposits for bookings made at the desk, with new stock and reporting tools in OpenChair.

This month, we’ve added bookable service combos, more control over multi-service appointments and deposit requests for bookings your team creates. Hair salons, barbershops and beauty studios can also review stock, record supplier deliveries and compare linked locations from OpenChair’s web app.
Help clients choose the right service or combination#
Service families now group related options on your OpenChair booking page. A Haircut family could contain short-hair, long-hair and restyle options. The client opens one menu card and chooses the service they need. Each option keeps its own price, duration and eligible staff.
Use a bookable service combo when the client needs several services in one appointment. A haircut and beard trim, or a colour and blow-dry, can appear as one offer in Services. Set the included services, their order and the combo price. OpenChair carries those services into the booking as separate appointment lines, with the combo price allocated across them.
We’ve also clarified the prepaid package choices on Pro: a bundle of sessions for one service, or a mix of different services bought upfront and redeemed later. A block of blow-dries belongs in Prepaid Packages. A colour and blow-dry booked together belongs in a service combo. Buying a prepaid package does not book all the appointments.
For salons with different team prices, the new Staff-Level Service Pricebook on Pro lets you maintain service prices against your own staff levels. You could set separate rates for Stylist and Senior Stylist while keeping the same underlying service.
Plan colour appointments around the hands-on work#
Services can now keep an ordered plan of staff-work and processing segments. The booking distinguishes hands-on work from time the colour is developing, while keeping application, processing and finishing in the same visit.
During eligible processing time, a stylist can take compatible work that fits the available time, service and resource requirements. Finishing and cleanup still need their place in the diary. Where you enable Split-Provider Booking Optimisation, eligible work can be shared across team members according to your booking settings.
The Booking Itinerary Editor also lets your team change the order and timing of services from the appointment details. Review staff or resource conflicts before saving the revised plan. For a colour, cut and finish appointment, you can see where each service sits before saving a timing change.
For days reserved for pre-arranged work, Appointment-Only Days replaces public self-bookable times with an enquiry option. Your team can review the request before adding an appointment. Staff weekday policies offer a separate control for a team member who is working but should not accept direct online bookings on particular weekdays.
Request a deposit for a booking made at the desk#
A client who books through reception can now receive a secure booking-protection link for that appointment. Open the booking to send or copy the request, then check its status from the same record. Your salon needs Stripe Connect and an applicable protection rule.
Deposit Upfront asks the client to pay a deposit, which reduces the remaining appointment balance once collected. No-show Card Protection asks them to save a card with consent for the agreed policy, without taking payment at that point.
For a colour appointment arranged over the phone, reception can create the booking and send the deposit request without asking the client to book again online. Check the recorded completion state before treating the deposit as paid. If the appointment details change, an earlier request can become out of date, so review its status before resending it.
Keep refunds and card takings with their records#
Payment Issues now gives refunds and adjustments a record linked to the original paid order or booking deposit. Owners can review the issue’s history and recorded outcome instead of relying on a note that says a refund was requested.
The web workflow supports authorised Stripe refunds, recorded cash or external-card refunds, store credit and forfeits. For cash or external-card refunds, you return the money separately and record the outcome in OpenChair. Stripe dispute alerts also link the issue to its status and evidence deadline for review.
We’ve added separate card-provider records for salons using an external terminal. Select the configured provider when recording an external-card payment, and Till Close keeps those takings separate from Stripe card payments. You take the payment on the external terminal, then record it in OpenChair for reconciliation.
Check stock and record what the supplier delivered#
Products now includes an inventory review with stock on hand, low-stock filters and recent sales activity. Start a supplier order from products running low, or create a blank order and add the items you need.
When a delivery arrives, record what was received. Missing or backordered items can stay separate from the products that arrived, and confirmed receipts update stock. For a barbershop ordering styling products, that means a short delivery does not have to be recorded as a complete order.
Owners and managers can also run a stocktake, enter counted quantities and review differences before committing the stock adjustments. For professional-use products, service usage templates let the team review and confirm usage at checkout before it is deducted from stock.
Show the right location and compare your venues#
Solo Booking Locations now lets Pro venues with exactly one active bookable provider manage up to three booking locations and assign open days to an address. An independent stylist working from different studios on different days can show the relevant location before a client confirms. The booking keeps the address recorded at the time, even if you later edit the location details.
For owners of several venues, Multi-Venue Reporting lets you compare selected linked locations and open the supporting reports with the same location selection. Every selected location needs Pro access and the same currency. Print views and CSV exports keep that selection, so your review stays focused on the venues you chose.
The Accounting Export Bundle provides a separate, owner-only Pro handoff for one venue and a selected period. It brings sales, payments and other recorded financial activity into an export for your accountant, with service-date figures distinguished from payment-date movements. It is a file export, not a live accounting-software connection.
