Buying a Gift Voucher Online
Purchase a gift voucher for any venue that uses OpenChair, choose a named experience or an amount, pay securely online, and send it directly to the recipient by email, keep the code to deliver yourself, or collect a printed voucher in store.
TL;DR
- Online gift voucher purchases are available for venues with Stripe payments configured, pay via card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link where available.
- Some venues offer named experience vouchers, such as a service or package. These may hide the dollar value from the recipient while still tracking the value for the venue.
- Preset amounts are $25, $50, $100, $150, and $200; custom amounts from $1 to $1,000 are also accepted.
- Gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of 3 years from purchase where AU/NZ consumer law applies.
- Voucher codes are 8 characters (letters and numbers), both "AB1C2D3E" and "GIFT-AB1C2D3E" are accepted formats.
Overview
The online gift voucher purchase page lets customers:
- Choose a named experience voucher or an amount voucher
- Send the voucher by email to a recipient, keep the code for manual delivery, or choose collect in store
- Include a personal message with the voucher
- Pay securely via Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link where available)
- Check the remaining balance or hidden-value voucher status
Note
Online gift voucher purchases are only available for venues that have Stripe payments configured. Paid gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of 3 years from purchase where Australian or New Zealand consumer law applies.
Purchasing a gift voucher
Purchasing a gift voucher takes about a minute, choose an experience or amount, pick a delivery method, and pay securely via Stripe.
Step 1: Open the gift voucher page
Visit the venue's gift voucher page at venuename.openchairpro.com/gift-vouchers. Older gift-cards links continue to work.
Step 2: Choose an experience or amount
Choose a named experience if the venue offers one, or select one of the preset amounts:

Or enter a custom amount in the text field (minimum $1, maximum $1,000). Currency matches the venue's country (AUD, NZD, or GBP).
Step 3: Choose a delivery method
Two options are available:

| I'll deliver it myself | The voucher code is shown on screen after purchase. You can copy or print it. |
| Collect in store | The venue prepares the printed voucher for collection. |
Step 4: Enter recipient details (email delivery only)
If sending by email, fill in:

Step 6: Continue to payment
Click "Continue to payment [amount]" (for example, "Continue to payment $50.00"). The payment screen loads.
Step 7: Complete payment
The payment page shows an order summary and Stripe's payment form. Enter your card details (or use Apple Pay / Google Pay if available).
Click "Pay [Amount]" to complete the purchase. If your bank requires extra verification (3D Secure), a confirmation step appears automatically.
After purchase
After payment is complete, your confirmation depends on the delivery method you chose.
Email delivery
If you chose "Email to recipient", the gift voucher is emailed directly to the recipient's address. The confirmation screen shows:
- A branded gift voucher visual with the venue's logo and accent colour
- The voucher name, code, expiry, and any personal message
- A confirmation that the voucher has been sent to the recipient email
- A "Buy another gift voucher" link
Manual delivery
If you chose "I'll deliver it myself", the confirmation screen shows:
- The branded gift voucher visual with the voucher code displayed
- A "Copy code" button to copy the code to your clipboard
- A "Print / Save as PDF" button to print a branded card (opens a print dialog)
- The voucher name, expiry, and collection or booking details
Tip
Use the "Print / Save as PDF" button to create a physical gift voucher. The print layout produces a branded voucher with the venue's logo, colours, experience name or amount, code, expiry, and booking link.
Checking a gift voucher balance
Visit venuename.openchairpro.com/gift-cards/balance to check a gift voucher.
- Enter the voucher code in the "Gift voucher code" field (e.g. "AB1C2D3E"). The code is automatically converted to uppercase.
- Click "Check Balance".
- If valid, the remaining balance and expiry date are displayed. Hidden-value experience vouchers show the voucher name instead of a dollar balance.
- If not found, the message reads: "Gift voucher not found or has expired. Please check the code and try again."
Gift voucher code format
Voucher codes are 8 characters long (letters and numbers, excluding similar-looking characters like O/0 and I/1). Codes may optionally include the prefix "GIFT-", both AB1C2D3E and GIFT-AB1C2D3E are accepted.
Troubleshooting

| "This venue is not set up to accept online payments" | The venue has not configured Stripe payments. Contact the venue directly to purchase a gift voucher in person. |
| Payment was declined | Check your card details and try again. If the issue persists, try a different payment method or contact your bank. |
| Gift voucher code not received by email | Check the recipient's spam or junk folder. If the email was entered incorrectly during purchase, contact the venue for assistance; they can look up the voucher by the purchaser's email. |
| "Too many attempts" on balance check | Balance checks are rate-limited to prevent abuse. Wait a moment and try again. |
| Gift voucher shows $0 balance | The full balance has been redeemed. Gift vouchers support partial redemptions, so the balance may have been used across multiple visits. |
| Print window blocked | Your browser blocked the print pop-up. Allow pop-ups for the site and click "Print / Save as PDF" again. |
