Buying a Gift Voucher Online
Buy a gift voucher online, choose who receives it and how it is delivered, then open or download the secure venue-branded voucher.

Purchase a gift voucher for any venue that uses OpenChair, choose a named experience or an amount, pay securely online, and send it to the recipient or purchaser by email or text where available. You can also give it yourself using the secure voucher output or arrange collection in store.
TL;DR
- Online gift voucher purchases are available for venues with Stripe payments configured. Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link where available.
- Some venues offer named experience vouchers, such as a service or package. These may hide the dollar value from the recipient while still tracking the value for the venue.
- Preset amounts are $25, $50, $100, $150, and $200; custom amounts from $1 to $1,000 are also accepted.
- Gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of 3 years from purchase where AU/NZ consumer law applies.
- Recipient delivery and printable output use a secure voucher link. The redeemable code is not used as the public link credential.
Overview
The online gift voucher purchase page lets customers:
- Choose a named experience voucher or an amount voucher
- Send the voucher to the recipient or purchaser by email or text where supported, give it yourself, or choose collect in store
- Include a personal message with the voucher
- Pay securely via Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link where available)
- Check the remaining balance or hidden-value voucher status
Note
Online gift voucher purchases are only available for venues that have Stripe payments configured. Paid gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of 3 years from purchase where Australian or New Zealand consumer law applies.
Purchasing a gift voucher
Purchasing a gift voucher takes about a minute, choose an experience or amount, pick a delivery method, and pay securely via Stripe.
Step 1: Open the gift voucher page
Visit the venue's gift voucher page at venuename.openchairpro.com/gift-vouchers. Older gift-cards links continue to work.
Step 2: Choose an experience or amount
Choose a named experience if the venue offers one, or select one of the preset amounts:

Or enter a custom amount in the text field (minimum $1, maximum $1,000). Currency matches the venue's country (AUD, NZD, or GBP).
Step 3: Choose who receives the voucher
Choose the destination before the delivery channel:

For Recipient or Purchaser, choose Email or Text message. Text delivery is available only for supported Australian and UK venues and mobile numbers. It sends one transactional text with a secure link and does not subscribe the recipient to marketing.
Step 4: Enter the selected delivery details
Enter only the contact selected in Step 3:

Step 5: Enter your details

Step 6: Continue to payment
Click "Continue to payment [amount]" (for example, "Continue to payment $50.00"). The payment screen loads.
Step 7: Complete payment
The payment page shows an order summary and Stripe's payment form. Enter your card details (or use Apple Pay / Google Pay if available).
Click "Pay [Amount]" to complete the purchase. If your bank requires extra verification (3D Secure), a confirmation step appears automatically.
After purchase
After payment is complete, your confirmation depends on the delivery method you chose.
Digital delivery
If you chose Email or Text message, OpenChair sends a secure hosted-voucher link to the selected recipient or purchaser. Provider evidence determines whether delivery is preparing, sent, delivered, or failed.

Give it myself
If you chose Give it myself, the confirmation screen provides:
- The branded gift voucher visual
- An Open secure voucher / PDF action
- A hosted voucher that can be opened, shared deliberately, downloaded, or printed
- The voucher name, expiry, and collection or booking details
Tip
Open the secure voucher and choose Download PDF to create a physical copy. The PDF uses the snapshotted venue design and remains available through the secure link while access is valid.
Checking a gift voucher balance
Visit venuename.openchairpro.com/gift-cards/balance to check a gift voucher.
- Enter the voucher code in the "Gift voucher code" field (e.g. "AB1C2D3E"). The code is automatically converted to uppercase.
- Click "Check Balance".
- If valid, the remaining balance and expiry date are displayed. Hidden-value experience vouchers show the voucher name instead of a dollar balance.
- If not found, the message reads: "Gift voucher not found or has expired. Please check the code and try again."
Gift voucher code format
Voucher codes are 8 characters long (letters and numbers, excluding similar-looking characters like O/0 and I/1). Codes may optionally include the prefix "GIFT-", both AB1C2D3E and GIFT-AB1C2D3E are accepted.
Troubleshooting

| Gift voucher email not received | Check the recipient's spam or junk folder. Ask the venue to check delivery evidence, correct the destination, resend, switch channel, or provide a secure link or PDF. |
| Gift voucher text not received | Confirm the mobile number is supported. The venue can inspect the delivery state and use email, a corrected number, secure link, or PDF recovery. |
| "Too many attempts" on balance check | Balance checks are rate-limited to prevent abuse. Wait a moment and try again. |
| Gift voucher shows $0 balance | The full balance has been redeemed. Gift vouchers support partial redemptions, so the balance may have been used across multiple visits. |
| PDF does not open | Open the secure voucher again and choose Download PDF. If the link is unavailable, ask the venue to create a fresh secure link. |
