AI Discount Offer Copy

Last updated 8 July 2026

AI Discount Offer Copy

Use Draft offer copy to write public storefront copy for a discount-code promotion. The AI drafts a Public title, Public description, and CTA label from the code setup, then you review and save the final offer yourself.

TL;DR

  • Open Discount codes, create or edit a code, then open Promotion.
  • Select Draft offer copy to fill Public title, Public description, and CTA label.
  • The draft is editable and is not published until you save the discount code.
  • Drafting uses Sparks when Spark billing is enabled.
  • Public promotion still follows discount-code rules: active code, Online booking channel, Everyone eligibility, and valid promotion dates.

What AI uses

The draft is based on the current discount-code form values, not on a separate brief.

Form value How it affects the draft
Name and Internal note Gives the AI campaign intent without exposing internal wording by default.
Code Lets the draft understand the offer, but the copy should not ask customers to copy a code.
Type, Percent off, and Amount off Gives the exact discount value.
Min spend Adds eligibility context without inventing terms.
Eligible purchases and selected services Helps the draft focus on all services or the selected service group.
Client eligibility Uses Everyone or private audience context. Saved-audience rules are not exposed publicly.
Starts, Ends, Promotion starts, and Promotion ends Keeps timing context grounded in the configured dates.
Existing public copy Lets the AI rewrite or improve current Public title, Public description, and CTA label.

The output is limited to three fields:

Field Limit
Public title Up to 120 characters in the form. The AI aims for a shorter title.
Public description Up to 240 characters in the form. The AI aims for one sentence.
CTA label Up to 40 characters in the form.

Draft offer copy

  1. Go to Discount codes.
  2. Select Add discount code or open an existing code and choose edit.
  3. Complete enough of Basics, Rules, Eligible purchases, and Eligibility for the offer to make sense.
  4. Open Promotion.
  5. Select Draft offer copy.
  6. Wait while the button shows Drafting....
  7. Review the generated Public title, Public description, and CTA label.
  8. Edit any wording that needs to match your brand or legal requirements.
  9. Turn on Promote on storefront if you want the offer to appear publicly.
  10. Select Create code or Save changes.

When the draft succeeds, OpenChair shows Offer copy drafted.

Publishing rules

AI copy does not bypass promotion rules. A promoted storefront offer must still be a valid discount code.

Requirement Why it matters
Code is Active Draft and archived codes cannot be promoted publicly.
Channels includes Online booking Storefront offers apply in the booking flow.
Client eligibility is Everyone Saved-audience offers cannot be promoted publicly yet.
Public title is filled A promoted offer needs a visible customer-facing title.
Code and promotion dates are current Expired or future-dated codes and promotions are hidden until available.
Usage cap is not reached A used-up code cannot remain displayable as an offer.

Saving a new promoted code replaces the previously published storefront offer.

Spark billing

Draft offer copy is a light AI generation action. When Spark billing is enabled, OpenChair checks available Sparks before generating:

  1. PRO included Sparks are used first.
  2. Any remainder is charged to the venue wallet.
  3. If there is not enough wallet balance, the draft is blocked before generation and the app suggests a top-up amount.
  4. If a usable draft is produced, the Spark charge is committed.

The generated copy is logged for AI cost tracking, but publishing remains a normal discount-code save.

Privacy and safety

For saved-audience discount codes, the AI may receive private context such as "private client audience" so it can avoid the wrong tone. The prompt instructs it not to mention private audience rules, internal segment logic, or unsupported eligibility claims.

The draft should not include hashtags, emoji, all-caps wording, legal fine print, unsupported services, unsupported dates, or discount values that are not in the form. Always review the final wording before saving.

Troubleshooting

Issue What to do
Offer copy not drafted Try again. If it repeats, check the error message and the venue's Spark balance.
Insufficient wallet balance. Suggested top-up... Top up the wallet or ask the owner to top up from billing settings.
Spark deduction failed. Check wallet balance and try again. Check Spark balance and retry after the wallet updates.
Only active codes can be promoted. Set the code status to Active before turning on Promote on storefront.
Only online-booking codes can be promoted. Add Online booking to Channels.
Saved-audience offers cannot be promoted publicly yet. Change Client eligibility to Everyone before publishing a storefront offer.
Copy is too broad Add or refine selected services, date windows, or the internal description, then run Draft offer copy again.

FAQ

What does Draft offer copy create?

It creates editable customer-facing copy for a promoted discount-code offer: Public title, Public description, and CTA label.

Does Draft offer copy use Sparks?

Yes. It is a light AI generation action. PRO included Sparks are used first, then wallet balance covers any remainder.

Can AI publish the offer for me?

No. The draft only fills the promotion copy fields. You still review the copy, choose whether to turn on Promote on storefront, and save the discount code.

Can saved-audience discount codes be promoted?

Not yet. AI can keep saved-audience context private while drafting copy, but public promotion is blocked for saved-audience offers.
