Sign-in And Security Settings
Security settings control your password and account access.
Where to find it. Web: Settings -> Sign-in & security. Mobile: Settings -> Sign-in & security.
TL;DR
- All roles can change their own password.
- Changing your password signs out other devices.
- Web supports Google connected-account management.
- Mobile supports password changes and account deletion.
- You cannot disconnect Google if it is your only sign-in method.
- Two-factor authentication is not currently available.
Change Your Password
Web
- Open Settings.
- Open Sign-in & security.
- In Password, enter Current password.
- Enter New password.
- Enter Confirm new password.
- Select Update password.
The new password must be at least 8 characters. If the update fails, OpenChair shows Password not updated with Update again.
Mobile
- Open Settings.
- Open Sign-in & security.
- In Change password, enter Current password.
- Enter New password.
- Enter Confirm new password.
- Tap Update password.
Mobile shows Password updated when the change succeeds. It shows Password not updated if the change fails.
Changing your password signs out other devices. Your current session stays active.
Connected Accounts
Web includes a Connected accounts section for Google sign-in.
| State | Action |
|---|---|
| Not connected | Select Connect and authenticate with Google |
| Connected | Select Disconnect to remove Google as a sign-in method |
You cannot disconnect Google when it is your only sign-in method. Set a password first, then return to Connected accounts.
Google connected-account management is not available in the mobile app.
Delete Account On Mobile
Mobile security settings include Delete account.
To request deletion:
- Open Sign-in & security on mobile.
- In Delete account, enter Current password.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm Permanently delete account.
This is permanent. After the deletion request succeeds, OpenChair signs you out.
For the full privacy and deletion workflow, see Privacy And Data.
Role Access
Security settings apply to the signed-in user account, not to the venue. Owners, managers, and staff can manage their own password.
Venue owners cannot change another user's password from venue settings. To remove venue access for someone else, use team offboarding.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| You forgot your current password | Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page |
| Passwords do not match | Re-enter Confirm new password |
| Google will not disconnect | Set a password first, then disconnect Google |
| You think someone else has access | Change your password immediately |
| You need to remove a team member | Use team offboarding, not account security |
