Venue Pulse
Venue Pulse shows Owners and Managers an exact waitlist-to-opening match on Today, with a safe review step before any Fill gap action.
Last updated 22 July 2026
Venue Pulse surfaces one exact, current opportunity beneath the core Today workflow. It is designed to answer a practical question: is there a waitlist request that can fill a real open slot now?
Where to find it. Web and mobile: open Today. Venue Pulse appears after the team section when an eligible opportunity exists.
TL;DR
- Venue Pulse shows one exact waitlist request that fits a current opening, or it shows no card.
- Review match revalidates the request, staff, resources and slot before opening the waitlist review.
- Reviewing a match does not contact the customer, create a booking or charge anyone.
- Continue to Fill gap only after checking the exact customer, service and appointment time.
What qualifies
OpenChair checks the live venue schedule, service, staff, resources and the customer's saved waitlist constraints. A card appears only when all of those constraints agree. The earliest valid opening wins; ties use stable deterministic rules.
Venue Pulse does not show occupancy praise, revenue warnings or a recurring quiet-day fallback. If there is no exact actionable match, the section is absent.
Review is safe
Select Review match to revalidate the exact request and opening. The destination initially reviews that server-validated match only.
Reviewing does not:
- send a message or campaign;
- create or change a booking;
- charge a customer;
- change customer or waitlist data.
The existing Fill gap workflow begins only after you explicitly continue from review, and it remains constrained to the reviewed request and opening.
Dismissal and privacy
Dismiss and Not relevant are stored for your account, venue and exact candidate, so the same candidate stays hidden across web and mobile. Materially changed evidence creates a different candidate.
Venue Pulse lifecycle analytics contain operational labels and version information only. They do not contain customer evidence, contact details or candidate identifiers.
Availability
Venue Pulse is an all-plan capability for Owners and Managers. Staff and locked shared devices do not receive candidate details. If live availability changes, OpenChair removes the opportunity and shows: This match is no longer available. Today has been refreshed.
Settings
Venue Pulse has no venue-level setting in the current release. OpenChair calculates eligibility automatically from the live schedule and waitlist. The card's feedback menu provides two controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Dismiss | Hides the exact candidate for your account across web and mobile |
| Not relevant | Records that the exact candidate is not useful and hides it for you |
Who can use this
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Owner | Can review and give feedback on candidates on every plan |
| Manager | Can review and give feedback on candidates on every plan |
| Team member | Does not receive Venue Pulse candidate details |
| Locked shared workstation | Does not receive Venue Pulse candidate details |
Common mistakes
Expecting a card every day. No card means OpenChair could not prove an exact current match. Venue Pulse does not fill the space with a generic quiet-day message.
Treating Review match as customer outreach. Review only opens the validated request and slot. It does not send a message or change a booking.
Assuming a dismissed card is hidden only on one device. Feedback follows your account for that venue and exact candidate across web and mobile.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Venue Pulse is not showing | Confirm you are an Owner or Manager. If you are, no exact current match may exist or you may have hidden it. |
| The match disappeared after selecting Review | The request, staff, resource or slot changed. Return to Today and review any newly calculated opportunity. |
| The expected request is not at the top of the list | Use the highlighted Pulse review. OpenChair loads the validated request directly, even outside the first page. |
| You dismissed a candidate on another device | This is expected. Dismiss and Not relevant follow your account for the same venue and candidate. |
FAQ
What is Venue Pulse?
Venue Pulse is an optional Today card for Owners and Managers. It appears when a current waitlist request exactly fits an available appointment slot.
Why is Venue Pulse not showing?
No exact actionable match may exist, the candidate may have changed, or you may have dismissed that candidate. Venue Pulse intentionally shows nothing instead of a generic quiet-day message.
Does Venue Pulse use AI or contact customers automatically?
No. Matching and copy are deterministic. Reviewing a match does not send, book, charge or change customer data.
