Venue Details
Configure your venue name, booking link, timezone, contact details, address, and opening hours on web and mobile.
Last updated 16 July 2026
Venue details control the name and contact information clients see when they book, receive confirmations, view receipts, or visit your storefront.
Where to find it. Web: Settings -> Venue details. Mobile: Settings -> Venue details.
TL;DR
- Owners can edit the venue name, contact details, address, and opening hours on web and mobile.
- The web app also manages Booking link and Timezone.
- The mobile app shows Booking link, timezone and country as web-only.
- Booking link changes require a confirmation step.
- Address search uses autocomplete and can save the Google place details used by maps and review features.
- Contact visibility on the public storefront is managed from Storefront, not Venue details.
What Venue Details Controls
Venue details include:
- Venue name
- Booking link
- Timezone
- Public email
- Phone number
- Street address
- city and postcode on mobile
- opening hours
Each value has a distinct client-facing use:
| Value | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Venue name | Public booking page, booking confirmations, receipts, invoices, and OpenChair app surfaces |
| Booking link | The venue's public booking URL |
| Timezone | New booking times and venue-based schedules |
| Public email, Phone number, and Street address | Booking confirmations, receipts, and invoices; storefront visibility is controlled separately |
| Opening hours | The public booking experience and venue availability context |
Access
Venue details updates are owner-only.
On mobile, non-owners see the message: Only the venue owner can edit venue details.
Some web settings may be visible to other roles, but the save action is owner-only. Ask the venue owner to make venue name, booking link, timezone, or address changes.
Web Venue Details
On web, open Settings -> Venue details.
The page title is Venue details with the description Manage your venue name, booking link, contact details and opening hours.
Venue Name and Booking
The Venue name and booking section manages the name clients see, the public booking URL, and the booking timezone.
Fields include:
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Venue name | Required, up to 100 characters |
| Booking link | Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only |
| Timezone | Affects new bookings |
Venue name saves inline. The success toast says Venue name updated.
Booking Link
Your booking link is the public URL for your venue.
To change it:
- Edit Booking link.
- Wait for the availability check.
- Select Save.
- Review Change your booking link?
- Select Change booking link.
If the link is unavailable, OpenChair shows: This link is reserved or already taken. Try another name.
After a successful change, OpenChair shows Booking link updated with Copy new link.
Old links automatically redirect to the new link, but you should still update:
- Google Business Profile
- social media bios
- printed materials
- third-party booking directories
Timezone
The Timezone field affects new bookings. It does not rewrite existing bookings.
Use this when the venue moves regions or was created with the wrong timezone.
Contact Details
The Contact details section explains that these values are used on booking confirmations, receipts, and invoices, while storefront visibility is managed separately.
Fields include:
| Field | Label | Placeholder |
|---|---|---|
| Public email | contact@example.com |
|
| Phone | Phone number | (07) 1234 5678 |
| Address | Street address | 123 Main St, Suburb... |
Address autocomplete can save the selected place ID, formatted address, latitude, and longitude when a Google Places result is selected.
The helper text points to Storefront settings for showing or hiding public contact details.
Mobile Venue Details
On mobile, open Venue details. The description is Manage your venue name, contact details, address and opening hours.
Owners can edit:
- Venue name
- Public email
- Phone number
- Street address
- City
- Postcode
- opening hours
Select Save venue details to save mobile changes. On success, OpenChair shows Venue details saved.
Address selection opens the address autocomplete sheet. The address search is restricted to the venue country where possible, or to AU, NZ, and GB when the country is not set.
Web-Only Mobile Notice
Mobile shows a card titled Booking link, timezone and country.
The card explains that these values are edited on web, the booking link is public, and the timezone controls new booking times.
Use the web app for:
- Booking link
- Timezone
- country-level identity details
Opening Hours
The Venue details screen also includes opening hours on web and mobile.
Use opening hours to define when the venue is normally open. Staff availability, booking rules, and calendar settings can still further restrict bookable times.
See Operating Hours for the full opening-hours workflow.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| Booking link is taken | Try a more specific slug with your suburb, city, or brand variation |
| Booking link will not save | Confirm the link uses lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only |
| Address search is not showing the right result | Search for the full street address, then select a result from autocomplete |
| Mobile will not let you edit | Confirm you are the venue owner |
| Timezone is wrong | Use web Settings -> Venue details -> Timezone |
| Public phone or email should be hidden | Use Storefront settings to manage public contact visibility |
