AI service description writing helps turn a service name, category, and venue context into short customer-facing copy. It does not change pricing, duration, staff assignment, or booking rules.

Who can use it?

Owners and managers can use AI service description writing when they can create or edit services.

The feature is available on all plans, but it is Spark-metered when Spark billing is enabled for the venue. If the venue does not have enough Spark balance, OpenChair shows an insufficient balance message.

Write a service description

On web:

1. Open Services.
2. Create or edit a service.
3. Find Service description.
4. Select Write with AI if the field is blank, or Rewrite with AI if it already has text.
5. Review the generated copy.
6. Save the service.

On mobile:

1. Open Services.
2. Create or edit a service.
3. Find Description.
4. Use Write with AI for a blank field or Rewrite for existing text.
5. Review and save.

The AI button is disabled until the service has a name.

Category and combo descriptions

On web, AI writing is also available for:

• Category description in Manage categories.
• Service-combo descriptions in Create service combo or Edit service combo.

For category descriptions, OpenChair keeps the public description within the category character limit. For combos, the AI uses the combo name, category, selected services, and existing text when available.

What to review before saving

AI text should be checked before publishing.

Service accuracy	The copy should match the actual service, duration, and outcome.
Claims	Remove medical, guaranteed-result, or unsupported claims.
Tone	Confirm it matches your venue's brand voice.
Length	Keep descriptions easy to scan on mobile storefront cards.

Troubleshooting

Issue	Solution
AI button is disabled	Add a service name first.
Service description not generated appears	Retry from the action error. The existing draft stays in the field.
Insufficient Spark balance appears	Top up Spark or write the description manually.
Generated copy is not right	Edit it manually or use Rewrite with AI after adding clearer draft text.
