Featured Service Collection

Last updated 8 July 2026

Featured Service Collection

TL;DR

  • Manage the featured service collection from Services on web.
  • The public label defaults to Featured.
  • Add services, collections, or combos.
  • You can add up to 12 items, but OpenChair warns after six.
  • Featured items still appear in their normal categories.

The featured service collection is a storefront merchandising section. It lets you place high-priority services, collections, or combos above the regular service menu.

Who can manage it?

Only the venue owner can edit the featured collection.

The feature is available on all plans.

Set up the featured collection

  1. Open Services on web.
  2. Open Featured collection.
  3. Turn on Show on storefront.
  4. Set the Public label.
  5. Add an optional Description.
  6. Search for services, collections, or combos.
  7. Add items and arrange their order with the move controls.
  8. Select Save collection.

The default public label is Featured. The label can be up to 60 characters and the description can be up to 180 characters.

Item limits and warnings

The collection can contain up to 12 unique items. OpenChair warns when more than six are selected because the section can stop feeling curated.

Featured items need review before they render when they point to something customers cannot currently book or view.

Warning What to check
Missing service, collection, or combo The item may have been deleted or archived.
Archived service Restore or replace the service.
Hidden collection or combo Turn the item visible again or remove it from featured.
Above plan limit Reduce active services or upgrade before featuring the item.
Needs two active services The collection or combo no longer has enough active items.

Storefront behaviour

Featured items render above regular service categories. They also remain in their normal category placement, so featuring an item does not remove it from the rest of the menu.

If Show on storefront is off, or the collection has no valid items, the featured section does not render.

Save conflicts

If another user changes the featured collection while your edit sheet is open, OpenChair can show Featured collection changed elsewhere. Review your draft, then try saving again.

Review the draft, adjust if needed, and select Save collection again.

Troubleshooting

Issue Solution
Save collection is disabled Add a public label and keep the item count at 12 or fewer.
Featured section does not show Turn on Show on storefront and confirm at least one featured item is valid.
An item says it needs review Open the underlying service, collection, or combo and make it active and visible, or remove it.
Too many items warning appears Keep the list to six or fewer if you want the section to feel curated.
