Reports Hub

Reports

Reports is the web home for OpenChair reporting. The root Reports page is a report launcher: it puts recent reports and the category-filtered report library first. The former Intelligence dashboard now lives inside Reports as Operating Briefing.

Where to find it. Web: Sidebar -> Reports. Open Operating Briefing from Reports for the dashboard. Old Intelligence links redirect to Operating Briefing. Mobile continues to use the Intelligence surface until the mobile reporting centre is consolidated.

TL;DR

  • Reports is owner/manager only on web
  • The former web Intelligence dashboard is now Operating Briefing inside Reports
  • The root Reports page is for finding and opening named reports, not reading one long all-in-one dashboard
  • Use category filters for jobs like sales, appointments, team, finance, marketing, compliance, and insights
  • Pin up to eight reports to keep your regular reporting jobs at the top of the hub
  • Recent reports are saved locally per venue on the browser
  • Metric definitions live on report-page info icons so formulas, included data, exclusions, and caveats are available next to the number
  • PRO users can export CSV files for Sales Summary, Sales List, Service Sales, Product Sales, Appointment Schedule, Day Sheet, Cancelled Appointments, No-shows, Incomplete Appointments, Revenue Trend, Booking Volume, and Staff Performance
  • The print action opens a dedicated light-mode print route outside the app shell, then uses browser print/save-to-PDF
  • FREE venues see Operating Briefing only in the Reports hub; advanced/source reports require PRO or an active trial

What Reports Includes

The first Reports release includes a category-filtered report library and dedicated routes for the core source reports behind the overview:

  • Operating Briefing
  • Sales Summary
  • Sales List
  • Service Sales
  • Product Sales
  • Appointment Schedule
  • Day Sheet
  • Cancelled Appointments
  • No-shows
  • Incomplete Appointments
  • Revenue Trend
  • Booking Volume
  • Staff Performance
  • Commission Report
  • Timesheet Export
  • Compliance Report
  • Gift Card Performance
  • Deposit Performance
  • Waitlist Recovery
  • Campaign Performance

Each catalogue entry shows:

  • report title
  • category
  • short description
  • an open action
  • a pin action

Pinned and Recent Reports

Use the pin icon on a report card or library row to save a report to the top of the Reports hub. Pinned reports are saved per user and venue, so an owner and manager can keep different shortcuts for the same salon.

You can pin up to eight reports. Recent reports remain browser-local and automatically exclude reports already shown in the pinned section.

Categories

Category filters narrow the report library without changing the selected reporting period. FREE venues only see reports available on their current plan; PRO and trial venues see advanced/source reports.

Metric Definitions

Report pages include info icons for the core reporting metrics:

  • Revenue
  • Bookings
  • Average spend
  • Occupancy
  • Booking rate
  • No-show rate
  • Cancellation rate
  • Retention
  • Rebooking
  • Utilisation

Definitions include a short formula, what is included, what is excluded, and caveats where the source data has limitations.

Core Report Pages

The PRO source reports share a consistent structure:

  • metric strip for the primary numbers
  • diagnostic checks that explain what to inspect next
  • visual ranking or trend shape
  • detail table with source rows behind the summary
  • export menu for CSV and browser print

Current source reports:

  • Sales Summary: period totals, average sale, service mix, and status breakdown
  • Sales List: source rows behind selected-period billable booking revenue
  • Service Sales: service revenue share, sales share, service mix, service sales detail
  • Product Sales: retail product revenue, units sold, average unit price, stock signal, product detail
  • Appointment Schedule: appointment source rows with time, client, service, staff, status, payment context, value, and calendar links
  • Day Sheet: active operational appointment rows for running the day
  • Cancelled Appointments: cancelled rows with lost value and cancellation reason where captured
  • No-shows: no-show rows with missed appointment value and operational context
  • Incomplete Appointments: past active-status rows that need completion or cleanup
  • Revenue Trend: trend line, previous-period comparison, trend checks, period detail
  • Booking Volume: active demand, cancellation/no-show leakage, demand shape, booking detail
  • Staff Performance: team revenue, concentration, utilisation review, staff detail

Exports

PRO users can export these core report pages to CSV:

  • Revenue Trend
  • Sales Summary
  • Sales List
  • Service Sales
  • Product Sales
  • Appointment Schedule
  • Day Sheet
  • Cancelled Appointments
  • No-shows
  • Incomplete Appointments
  • Booking Volume
  • Staff Performance

CSV exports include report metadata such as report name, venue, effective date range, timezone, currency, and generated timestamp. Spreadsheet formula prefixes are neutralised before export.

Existing exports remain available from their original surfaces:

  • Commission Report CSV
  • Timesheet CSV
  • Compliance Report CSV

These linked report surfaces are visible in the Reports hub for PRO/trial venues.

Print / Save as PDF

Source report print actions open a dedicated printable route outside the normal app shell. The print view uses a light theme, removes sidebar/navigation chrome, keeps the report title and selected period, and allows long reports to paginate across multiple PDF pages.

Access

Reports is visible to owners and managers only. Team members do not see the venue-wide Reports entry in the sidebar and cannot open it directly.

This does not change staff-specific reporting surfaces such as My Earnings.
