Campaign Content Editor and Brand Blocks

Last updated 8 July 2026

Campaign Content Editor and Brand Blocks

Build campaign emails with a block-based editor, reusable sections, venue content, and send-time checks.

Where to find it - Web: Sidebar -> Campaigns -> Create Campaign -> email campaign -> Content. Mobile: Not available.

TL;DR

  • The campaign email editor is available to PRO venues on web.
  • Use Add block to insert starters, section layouts, recommended blocks, venue content, media, and saved Brand Blocks.
  • Select one or more canvas blocks, then use Save as Brand Block to reuse that section later.
  • Saved location Brand Blocks can be archived from the Brand Blocks list. Group Brand Blocks can be inserted when available, but are not archived from the venue picker.
  • Use Send test before sending or scheduling so merge tags, booking links, and source-backed content can be checked.

What the editor includes

The web campaign editor shows Email content while you build the message clients will receive. The main canvas lets you select blocks, edit inline, move blocks, duplicate blocks, remove blocks, or save a selected section as a Brand Block.

The header includes:

Control What it does
Send test Sends the current email to a test address.
Templates Opens saved venue and group email templates.
Save template Saves the current full email design as a reusable template.

The canvas also includes undo and redo controls, desktop and mobile preview modes, and an Email brand panel for campaign-level branding.

Add content blocks

Select Add block from the canvas, or use an Insert point between existing blocks. The menu search field says Search blocks, starters and Brand Blocks.

The menu is organised into these sections:

Section What you can add
Full email starters Campaign starter, Offer campaign, and Last-minute openings.
Section layouts Message and CTA, Offer section, Service plus proof, and Portfolio story.
Recommended Context-aware suggestions for the current campaign.
From your venue Ready-made service, staff, and review cards based on current venue data.
Campaign blocks Last-minute openings, Service spotlight, Staff spotlight, Offer callout, Review quote, Portfolio image, and Booking CTA.
Content Heading, Text, and Button.
Structure Branded header, Branded footer, Divider, and Spacer.
Media Opens the campaign image picker.
Brand Blocks Saved reusable sections for the venue or linked group.

If no saved Brand Blocks exist, the picker says Select a block on the canvas and save it for reuse.

Use source-backed content

The From your venue section can insert content from current OpenChair records:

Source Inserted block
Service A service spotlight with the service name, description or price label, and booking path.
Staff A staff spotlight with the team member name, role or bio, image where available, and booking path.
Review A review quote using a published review and customer name where available.

The quality rail reports Source-backed content and tells you whether service, staff, review, or inherited brand details are present in the design.

Save a Brand Block

Save a section when you want to reuse it across future email campaigns.

  1. Open a campaign email on web.
  2. Select the block you want to save. Use multi-select when you want to save a section made from several blocks.
  3. Select the save icon labelled Save as Brand Block.
  4. In Save Brand Block, confirm Name, optional Description, and Category.
  5. Select Save Brand Block.

OpenChair validates the selected blocks before saving. A saved Brand Block must contain at least one block, no more than 12 blocks, and must render without a blocking email content issue. If another active Brand Block with the same name already exists for the same owner, saving is blocked with A Brand Block with that name already exists.

When saving succeeds, the toast says Brand Block saved.

Insert or archive a Brand Block

Open Add block, then scroll to Brand Blocks. Brand Blocks are grouped by category. Each item shows the Brand Block name and the number of blocks it will insert. Group-supplied blocks show Group in the secondary line.

Select a Brand Block name to insert a copy into the email. If it is a group Brand Block with locked content, those inserted blocks can show Locked by group template.

Location Brand Blocks include an archive button in the picker. The button is labelled Archive [Brand Block name]. When archiving is in progress, the label changes to Archiving [Brand Block name]. When archiving succeeds, the toast says Brand Block archived.

Group Brand Blocks are not archived from the venue campaign editor.

Set campaign email branding

Use Email brand to choose campaign-level brand settings before sending.

Setting Options
Brand source Location, Group, Custom
Logo Inherit, Hide, Custom, Group
Accent Inherit, Custom, Group
Header Logo, Wordmark, Minimal
Buttons Filled, Outline, Link
Shape Soft, Square
Density Standard, Airy

Use Custom only for campaign-specific changes. Inherited branding uses the location or group brand source where available.

Merge tags and booking links

Text fields support these personalisation tags:

Tag Send-time value
{{customerName}} Recipient customer name, or a safe fallback.
{{venueName}} Venue name.
{{bookingUrl}} Campaign booking link with tracking.
{{discountCode}} Attached campaign discount code, or blank when no code is attached.

Use Booking CTA or the Booking link control when a button should use the tracked campaign booking URL.

Send checks

Before sending, use Send test to verify content. The quality rail checks:

Check What it reports
Merge tags Unsupported tags, supported tags, or no recipient merge tags.
Source-backed content Whether service, staff, review, or inherited brand details are present.
Booking fallback Whether CTAs use the campaign booking link.
Test profile Whether the latest test email was sent.

Blocking issues must be fixed before the design can be saved as a Brand Block or rendered for campaign send.

Troubleshooting

Issue What to check
Brand Blocks are not visible Confirm the venue is on PRO and you are using the web email campaign editor.
Select a block on the canvas and save it for reuse. No matching Brand Blocks are available. Save a selected section first, or clear the search field.
Brand Block not saved Check for blocking content issues, duplicate names, or selected blocks over the 12-block limit.
Brand Block not archived Try again from the location Brand Block row. Group Brand Blocks cannot be archived from the venue picker.
Locked by group template The block came from group-controlled content and cannot be changed in this campaign editor.
No matching blocks. Clear or change the search term in Search blocks, starters and Brand Blocks.

FAQ

What are Brand Blocks?

Brand Blocks are saved groups of email design blocks. They are useful for repeatable sections such as branded intros, offer panels, service proof sections, review blocks, and campaign sign-offs.

Who can save a Brand Block?

Venue owners on PRO can save selected campaign email blocks as location Brand Blocks. Linked group Brand Blocks can also appear in the picker when a group has made them available.

Why can I not edit a block after inserting it?

Some group Brand Blocks and group templates can lock blocks or fields. Locked content shows Locked by group template and cannot be moved, edited, duplicated, saved again, or removed from the campaign editor.

Can I use Brand Blocks on mobile?

No. Brand Blocks and the semantic campaign email designer are currently web-only.
