Set Up Your Service Menu
TL;DR
- New venues see Build your service menu when no services exist.
- Choose Generate with AI, Import from your current system, or Browse templates.
- Review generated or template services before importing them.
- You can select all, clear, edit, remove, or save only selected services.

The service menu is the list clients book from. When a venue has no services, OpenChair offers several setup paths so you can start from AI suggestions, support import, templates, or a manual service.
Start from an empty Services page
Open Services. If the venue has no services, the page shows Build your service menu and three setup cards.

| Import from your current system | Your services already exist on a booking page such as Fresha, Timely, Vagaro, Square, or Shortcuts. |
| Browse templates | You want standard service lists for the venue industry. |
Generate with AI
Select Generate with AI to create a suggested service list. OpenChair starts AI generation in the background and falls back to standard templates if generation times out or returns no services.
Before saving, review the list. You can:
- Use Select all.
- Use Clear.
- Untick individual services.
- Edit a generated service row.
- Remove a service row.
Select the import action to save the selected services to the venue.
Import from your current system
Select Import from your current system when you already have a public booking page. Enter the current booking page URL and send the request to support.
After the request is sent, you can keep setting up your menu while support handles the import. The same panel offers:
- Continue with AI suggestions.
- Browse templates.
- Add manually.
Browse templates
Select Browse templates to load a standard list for the venue category. Review the list before saving it, the same way you review AI suggestions.
Templates are useful when you want a fast starting point but do not need support to copy a live menu.
Add services manually
Manual service creation is still available from the Services page. Use it when the venue only needs a few services or when you want complete control from the start.
Troubleshooting

| AI generation takes too long | Wait for the fallback templates, then review and save the services you want. |
| Services not imported appears | Retry from the error panel. Your reviewed service list stays available. |
| No services are selected | Use Select all or tick the rows you want before importing. |
| Imported service needs changes | Edit the service after import from Services. |
